Destination Wedding Photographer | Bahamas Day 1
Yes you read right! I have been lucky enough to be asked by a couple to travel all of the way to the Bahamas to capture their wedding day. Unlike most destination weddings the couple are not from the UK they actually live in the Bahamas in fact the groom is the Mayor of Man O War Cay one of the Abaco islands.
It was one of those jobs that when it came through on the email you wonder if it’s for real or not! Luckily it was and once all of the formalities had been sorted and confirmed we had a chat on Skype and the date was set.
SO here I am after a 3 and a half hour drive Leeds to London – 9 hour flight London to Nassau – 1 and a half flight Nassau to Marsh Harbour – Boat ride Marsh Harbour to Man O War Cay where I am staying. Phew what a journey but it didn’t disappoint the first evening (yesterday) Chelsea and Jeremy took me by golf cart to the end of the island to see the sunset. It was stunning and I have made a promise to myself to return one morning and capture a sunrise and also to hopefully do a video tutorial on it at the same time.
Today after catching up on some sleep I found myself with a day to myself whilst Chelsea and Jeremy finished off a few things for the wedding on Saturday. I took the water bus back to Marsh Harbour from Man O War and then another through to Hope Town. Hope Town is beautiful and I spent most of the day there. Note to you guys if you are going snorkeling put on double the amount of sun cream you THINK you will need! Ouch. After attempting some underwater photography (badly) I had some great lunch there and thengot the water bus back.
Later this evening I will be doing Chelsea and Jeremy’s pre wedding shoot on the beach which I can’t wait for in the mean time here is some images from today.
